Mr. Hoyett A. Hurley, age 89, of Gaylesville, AL, died Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hurley was born September 18, 1924, in Gaylesville, AL, son of the late John M. and Esmer Hartline Hurley. He was a cattle farmer.
Mr. Hurley is survived by his wife of 70 years, Pauline Jennings Hurley; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sheila Hurley of Broomtown, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Bill Schatz of Cleveland, OH; brother, John Hurley, Jr. of Gaylesville, AL; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-granchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Hurley will be held at 3:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) Monday, December 30, 2013, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Andy Kellete officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Bethel Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Loyd Chapman, Logan Hurley, Jackie Epps, Tommy Miller, Richard Epps, and Wayne Tallent. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dean H. Buttram, Jr., Johnny Roberts, Tim Williams, Neil Crompton, and Danny Smith.
Mr. Hurley will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. (E.S.T.) until the service hour on Monday.

Mr. Junior Fay Timmons, age 71, of Sylvania, AL, passed away Friday December 27, 2013, in Crossville Nursing Home.
Mr. Timmons was born Feb. 19, 1942, in Trion, GA, the son of R.B. and Rachael Watkins Timmons. He was a automobile body repairman, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served two tours in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by a sister Becky Bethune, 2 brothers, Carlton Timmons, and Tommy Timmons.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Denise & Jimmy Browder, grandchild, Leslie Rogers, great-grandchild, Nathan Rogers, sisters, Betty Lane, Sue Stephens, Patricia Bandy, Evelyn Timmons, Linda Bethune, brothers, Larry Timmons, Danny Timmons, Bobby Watkins and a number of nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Junior Fay Timmons.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday December 30, 2013, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Howell officiating with interment in the Summerville Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Sidney Bandy, Harold Timmons, Jonathan Woodard, Jackie Corbin, Jerry Timmons, Larry Timmons.
Mr. Timmons will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday December 29, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Teresa Gayle McCurdy Money, age 63, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2013, in Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
Mrs. Money was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Trion, GA, the daughter of the late Nat and Virginia Low McCurdy. Mrs. Money was a computer programmer, and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Money, and a son, Brandon Jefts. Teresa loved to travel after retiring. Costa Rica was her favorite location, and it was there that she spent her remaining years.
Survivors include her son, Hagan Griffin, daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Jonathan Pike, grandchildren, Ashley & David Mills, Penelope Pike, sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda & Kenneth Abbott, Diana & Peter Phillip, Deborah & James Anderson and several nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Teresa Gayle McCurdy Money.
Graveside Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday December 30, 2013 from the Greenhills Memory Gardens with Rev. Kevin Norton officiating.

MR. HERMAN A. YORK, age 78, of York Road, Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday at his residence. A native Chattooga Countian, He was born to the late Archie Dallas (Buddy) and Zella Lucille Maples York on April 4, 1935. Mr. York was Baptist by Faith and was retired from Ford Motor Company, Atlanta and Riegel Textile Corporation. Preceding Him in death was a son, the late Michael Arthur York and a sister, the late Mary Frances Dillon.
Surviving are daughter and spouse-Roseanne and Bob Floyd of Rossville; sisters and spouses-Betty Sue Hayes of Summerville, Joyce Irene Moore of LaFayette, Wanda Paulette and Andy Long of Ridle, and Hazel and Doug Mattox of Calhoun; brothers and spouse-John Wayne and Jane York of Summerville and Raymond Dallas York of Lithonia; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews; special friends-Jackie McClung and Family, also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30th, at 11:00 A.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Mattox officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Mr. Tommy Hughes “Tom” Dooley, age 72, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Dooley was born in Summerville, Georgia on September 25, 1941, son of the late Willie Hughes Dooley and Essie Norton Dooley. He was a 1961 graduate of the Summerville High School where he was a member of the 1960 State Championship Football Team. Mr. Dooley was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being outdoors, working on his farm, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Dooley had attended the New Antioch Baptist Church and prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Summerville Gas Department.
Mr. Dooley is survived by his wife, Peggy Martin Dooley; son, Rusty Dooley of Summerville; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Vergil Tudor of Lyerly; three grandchildren, Baylee Tudor Carpenter and her husband, Zack, Jessie Tudor and Abby Tudor; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Dooley will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 P.M., in the Petitt Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Pledger and Rev. Kenneth Norton officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson McKinley Mann, Sr., age 69, of Trion, GA, passed away Monday December 23, 2013, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Mann was born July 10, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, the son of the late Arthur and Lucille Reynolds Mann. Mr. Mann was a self-employed construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lee Reynolds Mann, children, Wilson Mann, Jr., Ronnie Mann, Dorothy Weaver, Geneva Burrage, Beverly James, Annette Elrod; brother, Larry Mann; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, December 26, 2013 from the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kevin J. Norton officiating.
