Mr. Frankie Eugene "Cotton" McGraw, age 76, of Summerville, GA died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. McGraw was born December 25, 1934 in Berryton, GA, the son of the late James Ollie and Alma Roberta Nelson McGraw. He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mr. McGraw was retired from Riegel Textile where he worked for 20 years as a printer. He was also a self-employed logger. He was a member and treasurer of Chattooga River Coon Hunters Club. Mr. McGraw was a veteran of the United States Army. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Padgett; and a brother, Robert McGraw.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred McGraw; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Lynne McGraw; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jeff Woodall; brother, John "Ollie" McGraw; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cathy and Tommy Beech; grandchildren, Beth and Bill Womack, Chris McGraw, and Carter Woodall, Josh Allmond, Sam Allmond, Keisha Marie, ; 7 Great-grandchildren; special nieces, Felicia Walker and Heather Collette, and a number of Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bryant and Rev. Ronnie Pettyjohn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Alfred Searles, Tommy Turkett, Ronald Crouch, Clay Askew, Jack Owings, Jerry Nixon, Lee Reed, and Charlie Lowry. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Chattooga River Coon Hunters Club, Jay Sell, all Deacons of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Harry Thompson, Bill Speer, and Micah Studdard.

Mr. McGraw will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. He will also lie in state at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Wednesday from 10:30 until the service hour.

Mr. Donald Edward Heath, age 82, of Summerville, GA died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Heath was born October 29, 1928 in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Leslie and Anne McVennon Heath. He was a retired securtiy officer from Warner Southern University in Florida. He was a building contractor where he owned and operated Customline Home in Sarasota County, FL. He had served as a Florida State Representative. Mr. Heath was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea and Japan as a Medic First Calvary. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Burris; and a brother, Marvin Heath.

Mr. Heath is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hammond Heath; sons and daughters-in-law , Donnie JR. and Faye Heath, Michael and Nina Heath; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Rohn Hurley, Rita and Tim Harton, Janice and Nick Vann; son-in-law, Larry Burris; 12 Grandchildren; and 11 Great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Hyde officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a. m. Monday, August 1, 2011. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Warner University, 13895 Hwy. 27, Lake Wales, FL 33859.

Mrs. Mary Lou West, age 72, of Bethel Church Road, Summerville, GA, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2011 in Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. West was born June 18, 1939, in Jackson City, AL, the daughter of the late John F. and Iokeau Mountain Roach. She was a retired textile worker and a member of the Bethel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irby Cleveland West.

Survivors include her children, Randy and Christy West, Summerville, GA, Darlene and James Hatcher, Trion, GA, Vicky and Scott Webb, Chattanooga, TN, brothers, Davey and Joann Roach, Lyerly, GA, Larry and Barbara Roach, Calhoun, GA, sisters, Sharon Williamson, Trion, GA, Debbie and Robert Elrod, Summerville, GA, 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren.

Mrs. West was cremated at her request and the family will have a time of fellowship and remebrance at the Mason Funeral Home Community Room, Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family request no flowers please. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

MRS. HELEN DEAN REYNOLDS, age 79, of Wood Street-Summerville, Georgia passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011, in a Rome hospital. Born in Shannon, Georgia on January 20, 1932 She was a daughter of the late Raymond and Nellie Crabtree Garmany. Affectionately known as Ms. Helen, she was a member of the Chapel Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church, was retired from retail sales from K-Mart and Walmart, and was preceded by husbands the late Rev. W. H. Dean and the late Rev. Harley Reynolds; she was also predeceased by children-Sonny Dean, Jerry Dean, and Betty Norton, and siblings-Frances Maxey, Mattie Ruth Hickey, and Richard Garmany.

Surviving are daughters and husbands-Cecelia & Cecil Laney of Trion and Deborah & Steve Weaver of Summerville; step sons-Don Reynolds and Andre Reynolds of Alabama; sisters-Daisy Williams of Chattanooga and Lucille Stephens of Summerville; daughter-in-law-Laura Dean; special friend-Martha B. Gaines both of Summerville; 14 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 27th, at 3:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Sanford Deberry, Rev. Gary Howell, and Rev. Robert Patterson officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Ray Laney, Kevin Bailey, Jervis Rowlls, Jeremy Haygood, Gary Norton, and Mike Dean; Honorary Pallbearers North Georgia Home Health and members of Chapel Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church. The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

MRS. COTEAL THURMAN HOLT – AGE 90, – Of San Diego, California, the eldest of seven children born to the union of Ernest and Johnnie Mae Gaines Thurman, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Charles, Hamp, Johnny Thurman and Wilbert Robbins.
