Mr. McDaniel was born June 14, 1923 in Cloudland, GA, the son of the late Bob McDaniel and Annie Jane Stoker McDaniel. He was retired from the Lookout Mountain Community Services and he was a member of the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a great friend to all who knew him. He loved his family and his church, most of all he loved his Lord and Savior. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Winnie Lee McDaniel; son, Bobby Wayne McDaniel; brothers, John McDaniel and Enoch McDaniel; sisters, Rosie Smith and Jannie M. Durham; step-granddaughter, Regina Eubanks.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy McDaniel; sons and daughters-in-law, Davis Lee McDaniel, James Timothy & Karen McDaniel, and John Anthony "Tony" & Mary McDaniel; daughters and sons- in-law, Earlene & David Elliott, Annie Sue and Phillip Murphy; step-daughters and husbands, Nancy & Jimmy Gribble, Malinda & Jay Tong, Cynthia & Eddie Wilson, Laura Stricklin and Kelvin Lovingood; daughter-in-law, Sheryl McDaniel; sister, Mary Jones; 13 Grandchildren; 3 Step-grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Penville Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. Carlos B. Martines and Rev. Charles Izell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennville Christian Missionary Alliance Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Robert Murphy, Charles Murphy, Edwin Murphy, Shane Murphy, Robin Elliott, Justin McDaniel, C. J. Murphy, and Brett McStotts. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Malana Cook, Amber McDaniel, Shanna Ammons, step-daughters, Cynthia Wilson, Nancy Gribble, Laura Stricklin, Malinda Tong; Special Friends; members of the Encouragers Sunday School Class; and Members of the Look Out Mountain Community Service.
Mr. McDaniel will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, October 22, 2010. He will also lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
