Mr. Louis Cardell (Butch) Chassereau, age 85, of Trion, GA., passed away Tuesday November 18, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Chassereau was born August 3, 1923, in Tarboro N.C., the son of the late Owen and Elizabeth Kinsey Chassereau. He was a retired textile worker, a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Harrell Street Church of God, He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Melvin Chassereu, and Tim Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Chassereau, children, Glenn Chassereau, Charlotte, N.C., Rusty Brown, Trion, GA., Doris Woody , Gastonia, N.C., Patricia Mayes, Greer, S.C., 11 grandchildren,3 great-grand children. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday November 20, 2008 from the Harrell Street Church of God with Rev. Denny Smith & Rev. Todd Smith officiating interment in the Ridgeway Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Shanklin-Attaway Post number 5 of Rome, GA. Active pallbearers Pete Hampton, Dewayne Hampton, Charles Toles, Thomas Hamilton, Chip Landreth, Tony Scott. Mr. Chassereua will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Smith was born in Rockwood, Tennessee on May 30, 1933, daughter of the late James Corbett Reed and Charity Reed. She was a retired housekeeper and was preceded in death by her husband, James Kyle Smith; sister, Geneva Marshall; brothers, Glenn Reed, Tom Reed, Bill Reed and Charles Reed.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, John Smith, devoted son and caregiver; Charles and Mary Harris of Columbus, OH, Donna and Larry Houchins of Linden, VA, Marsha and Howard Luckenbaugh of Hubert, NC and Tracy Smith of Columbus, OH; brother, James Reed of Summerville; sister, Margaret Langford of Summerville; special nephew, Ron and Glenda Turner of Summerville; grandchildren, Curtis and Jennifer Luckenbaugh, Amanda Houchins, Tim Cockerill, Katie Smith, Sherry Harris, and Charles Harris, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brianna Cockerill, Jacob Duffey, Justin and Brittney Luckenbaugh, Anthony Madden and Alexis Harris; beloved pets, Punky, Misty and Charlie.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Smith will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be on Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Hubbard and Curtis Luckenbaugh.
Mrs. Smith will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 7 P.M.
Mr. Cleveland was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on April 2, 1935, son of the late C.H. Cleveland and Alama (Alma) Shaw Cleveland. Prior to retirement he worked with Reigel Mills as a frame operator. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cleveland was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Cleveland and a sister, JoAnn Henderson.
Mr. Cleveland is survived by his wife, Paula Cleveland of Lyerly; Sons, Dennis and Mandy Cleveland of Louisiana and Dan Cleveland of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Ashley Inzarelle, Kasie Cleveland, and Lacey Cleveland; and great grandchildren, Giovani Inzarelle and Sophia Inzarelle.
Graveside and Interment Services for Mr. Cleveland will be held Monday, November 17, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Johnson Cemetery with Rev. John Mann officiating.

Mr. Lester Dilbeck, Jr, age 74 of White Oak Road in Summerville passed away Thursday morning at his residence following an illness. Born in Whitfield County Georgia on September 12, 1934 he was the son of Lester Dilbeck, Sr. and Fannie Louise Clark Dilbeck. Mr. Dilbeck was Baptist by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Dilbeck served in Korea and was retired from the Cobb County Waterworks. He was preceded in death by his first wife the late Edne Warren Dlibeck; siblings Charlene Dilbeck and James Dilbeck; niece – Teresa Gail Dilbeck Cox and nephew Ricky Lee Dillbeck.
Surving are wife – Lillie Dillbeck; Step mother – Lila Dilbeck Rymer of Ringgold; Step Daughter – Ruth Parker of Summerville and Donna Earkle of North Carolina; sisters and spouces – Jewell and Jerry Earnest and Betty & Van Lance; borthers & spoucesGrady & Genelle Dilbeck and Robert & Polly Dillbeck all of Dalton. Mr. Snyder was born April 7, 1932 in Catoosa County, GA, the son of the late Harison Baker Snyder and Mamie Alice White Snyder. Mr. Snyder was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Before retirement he was employed with Roper Corporation and Riegel Textile. He was a veteran of the United States National Guard.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Snyder; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly & David Talley, Calhoun, GA, Wendy & Chris Proctor, Rome, GA; son, David Harold Snyder, Summerville, GA;sister, Mary Jo Patterson, LaFayette, GA; grandchildren, Kirsty Talley, Marci Talley, Brett White, Jennifer Davenport, and Aly Proctor; great grandchildren, Bryson Talley, McKenzie Talley, and Ansley Davenport.

Mr. Harold D. Snyder, age 76, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 8, in Redmond Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Mason Funeral Home.
Mr. Richard M. White age 78 of Summerville, passed away on Saturday in a Rome hospital. A native of Floyd County, Georgia he was born to the late Hugh baxter and Mary Whomack White on March 23, 1930. Mr. White was a member of the Pennville Missionary Alliance Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army Intelligence Service, serving in both Korea and Vietnam and after 22 years, retiring an EB after which he obtained an R.N. Degree; waorked at Chattooga Hospital and was form Charge Nurse at Oakview Nursing Home, and worked with Life Flight at Georgia Baptist Hospital.
Surviving are wife Rosemarie White; daughters and spouses, Nancy & Jimmy Gribble of Rome, GA, Cynthia & Eddie Wilson of Telgoa, Malinda & and Jay Tonge of Goldsboro, N.C., Laura and Kelvin Lovingood of Pennville, granchildren – Michelle Chamblee, First Lt. Michael Terrell, Daniel Terrell, step son Grant Montgomery and former wife Nancy White McDaniel.
