
CAROLYN MATILDA PERRY – Age 57, – of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023. She was born on July 5, 1965, to Viola McCuthins and the late Charles Price. She was preceded by her father, Charles Price; grandparents, Nishious Hannie Price, Smith McCuthins, Lugene and Lucile Parker, she was a member of New Spirit and Truth Assembly of Jesus.
MR. ALAN GREEN, age 80, of Green Road, Summervile, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his residence, following an illness. A native Chattooga Countian, He was born on September 27, 1942, to the late Gordon Duncan and Ellen Lucille Worsham Green. Alan was a member of New Hope South Baptist Church and was retired accounting manager for Mount Vernon Mills. In addition to Parents, He was preceded in death by a sister, the late Martha Green Calhoun and brother, the late John Worsham Green.
Mrs. Shirley Ann Forbes, age 73, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at Atrium Health Floyd.
Mrs. Forbes was born June 22, 1949, in Summerville, GA, daughter of the late Ramond David and Dorothy Jean Thrasher Clowdis. She was a member of North Summerville Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, worked as the Kitchen Manager at Gaylesville School. She was also former owner and operator of The Morning Glory in Trion. Mrs. Forbes was famous for her home-made chicken salad.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Forbes was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Jean Patrick.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Forbes; sons, Neil (Deb) Colbert, Tony Colbert; brother, David (Donna) Clowdis; grandchildren, Dalton (Heather) Colbert, Jason (Kelly) Clayton, Rebecca Clayton, Aimee (Dave) Bornstein, and Breana (Eric) Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2023, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rodger Whorton and Pastor Sammy Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Neil Colbert, Dalton Colbert, Tony Colbert, Stan Rosser, Steve Rosser, and Ron Patty. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lena and Jim Coker as well as the Ladies of North Summerville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Forbes will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday.

Mr. Manule Owens, age 74 of Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his residence.
Manule enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was known as a friend to all and willing to help out a friend in any way at any time.
Mr. Owens was born in Rome, GA February 10, 1949, to the late Dan Lee and Nora Bell Rutledge Owens. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Victory Dan Owens and Richard Allen. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Hughes Owens; one sister and brother in law, Nathan and Sharon Deering; nieces and nephews, Bo Allen, Elaine Abbott, Ann Abbott, Andrea Hall, Karla Hughes, Jason Hughes, Josh Hughes and Brent Hughes; family and friends, Sissy Roland, Sammy Shoemake, Evelyn and Alton Maddox.
The Owens family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2023, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

MRS. YVONNE THOMPSON ETCHISON – Age 75, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 19, 2023. She was born March 20, 1948 to the late Bud and Lily Stalling Thompson. She was preceded by her husband, William Etchison, two sons, Michael Paul Etchison, and Demarcus Etchison, sisters, Maggie Knox, Annie Allgood, and Leila Wedgeworth, brothers, Bobby Thompson, LeRoy Thompson, Carl Thompson, and J. W. Thompson.
Those left to cherish her memories forever is her daughter, Cynthia Smith; son, William A. Etchison; grandchildren, Ericka Johnson, Reginald Stamper, Tykee Stamper, Markera Johnson, Mia Page, Demarcus Etchison, Jr., and Malachi Johnson; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Wedgeworth, Otha (Rev. Gregory) Ludy, Irene Dozier; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; very special friends, more like sisters, Peggy Perry and Angela, and other friends.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. at New Spirit and Truth Assembly of Jesus, 487 Scoggins Street, Summerville, GA with Bishop V. T. Harden as Eulogist. Her remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour. Interment, Lyerly Cemetery.

Mr. Joe Hill, age 79 of Summerville, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in a Rome Nursing Facility. He was born in Alabama, February 28, 1944, son of the late Lawrence A. and Myrtle Walls Hill. He was employed as a team member in the Coater Department of Mohawk industries.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and John Wayne Stowe; granddaughter, Kaitlin Montgomery; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 2 p.m. from the Graveside with Rev. Larry Scoggins officiating. Interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be John Wayne Stowe, Dennis Bandy, Gregg Tanner, Logan Blevins, Scott Ballard and Billy Joe Dooley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Hill’s nurses and the staff of Pruitt Healthcare.

Mr. Daegen Paul Vaughn, age 19, of Summerville, GA, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, from injuries sustained in a watercraft accident.
Mr. Vaughn was born January 28, 2004, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, son of Jason P. Vaughn and Heather Smith. He attended North Summerville Baptist Church and was employed as a lineman with 5 Star Electric. He was a graduate of Trion High School where he excelled in the wrestling and football programs.
Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Terry Smith, Joe R. Norton; and a cousin, Jordan Vaughn.
Survivors include his mother, Heather Smith (Brandon Cleveland); father, Jason P. Vaughn; sisters, Anistin (Travis) Stancil, Jaci Cleveland; brother, Cody J. Vaughn; grandparents, Nita Smith, Glenda Norton, Pete (Cindi) Vaughn; aunt, Christy Lemming; uncles, Barry (Fayla) Vaughn, Stacy (Shelley) Vaughn, Jamie (Wendy) Smith; cousins, Taylen Vaughn, Braxton Vaughn, Sidni (Connor) Justus, Mila Justus, and Tanner Lemming.

MR. ROBBY HINES, age 63 of Summerville passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at a South Georgia Hospital. He was born on October 12, 1959 in Summerville, Georgia, son of the late Claude and Betty Rose Hines. He was employed with Roper Corporation in assembly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hines was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Hines and a niece, Tonia Railey.
Surviving are his children, Adam Godfrey, Justin Ward, Robyn Hines (Michael Bean), Jacob Hines; sisters, Elizabeth Hall, Terry Hines, Linda Morgan, Christy Hines, Kimberly (John) Mincey; brother Jason Hines; several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Minister Hugh Glaze officiating.
