Georgia Agricultural Education has announced that Lauren Jarrett has been selected as the new Adult Education Program Coordinator for the Georgia Agricultural Education Program.

According to the program’s statement, Jarrett brings more than 18 years of experience in agricultural education, with a strong background in adult agricultural instruction, community program development, organizational leadership, and statewide agricultural engagement. Her work in Chattooga County Schools as an Agriculture Education Teacher and Young Farmer Teacher is credited with expanding adult education programming, strengthening community partnerships, and improving financial and operational efforts within the local Young Farmer program.

Jarrett has also served in state leadership roles, including Parliamentarian for the Georgia Young Farmer Association State Board, and her skills in communication, budgeting, event coordination, and stakeholder collaboration align closely with the responsibilities of her new position. In this role, she will help support Georgia Young Farmer Association and Georgia FFA Alumni operations, coordinate professional learning opportunities for teachers, and advance adult agricultural education across Georgia.

In her personal statement, Jarrett said she is honored to accept the role and noted that news travels quickly following the announcement. She shared that she will serve as the GYFA Executive Secretary and the Georgia FFA Executive Secretary, while also helping oversee professional development for agricultural education teachers statewide.

Jarrett also expressed gratitude for her time in Chattooga County, saying agricultural education has never been “just a job” and that her experiences with Chattooga County FFA and Young Farmers will always be close to her heart. She said she has requested to finish out the current school year locally and plans to officially begin her new position once the year concludes. Jarrett added that she’s especially thankful for the friendships built during her time in the county and looks forward to continuing to work alongside the community in the months ahead.
