Local residents will have an opportunity to connect with area farmers and learn more about locally grown products during an upcoming Farm Stand Meet and Greet in Chattooga County.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center in Summerville.

Hosted by the Chattooga County Young Farmers, the meet and greet is designed to highlight local farm stands and give producers a chance to showcase what they offer. Participants will be set up with tables to display goods, share information, and connect with the community.

Organizers say the evening will begin with a brief introduction, followed by time for attendees to visit with vendors, ask questions, and learn more about local agriculture. Vendors are also welcome to bring items to sell.

The event is open to the public and aims to support local agriculture while encouraging community involvement.

The Chattooga County Young Farmers are once again offering Georgia-Grown Vidalia onions for sale as the 2026 season gets underway.

According to the group, the order deadline is April 17, with pickup tentatively planned for the last week of April. Customers can place an order through a Young Farmer member or by scanning the QR code on the sale flyer.

The Chattooga County Young Farmers are inviting the community to come out and support local agriculture at a special Farm Stand Meet & Greet on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 PM at the Chattooga County Ag Center.

The event will bring together local farm stand owners from across the county, giving them the opportunity to showcase their products, set up displays, and even offer items for sale. Attendees will be able to meet growers, learn more about what each farm stand offers, and find out where to purchase fresh, local goods.

Organizers say the evening will begin with a brief introduction before opening up time for guests to visit with vendors, ask questions, and make connections within the community.

Young Farmers Director Lauren Jarrett has released a February update for the Chattooga County Young Farmers Association, highlighting upcoming educational programs and certification opportunities for area agricultural producers.

The group’s program on Catching Honeybee Swarms with Brandon Ray, North Region Ag Education Director, originally planned for February 5, has been rescheduled due to a weather-related schedule change for the presenter. The meeting and educational class will now be held on Thursday, February 12th at 7:00 PM at the Chattooga Ag Center, with a meal provided. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, February 10th to help organizers get an accurate meal count.

Jarrett also announced that a pesticide credit class for Chattooga, Floyd, and Gordon County Young Farmers is scheduled for February 19th.
