Northwest Georgia, including Chattooga County, is heading into a calm and comfortable Thanksgiving after Tuesday’s active weather. Skies will continue clearing through the day, and conditions will turn noticeably cooler and drier.
As the cold front moves farther southeast, any leftover showers this morning will fade out, with sunshine breaking through by afternoon. Breezy conditions are still possible, but most of the region should enjoy clear to mostly clear skies before sunset.
Thanksgiving Day brings ideal holiday weather across Chattooga County. High pressure settles in, delivering mostly sunny skies and crisp, cool temperatures—perfect for family gatherings, travel, and outdoor photos.
Temperatures tonight will drop sharply into the 30s, with some upper 20s in the higher elevations. Highs on Thanksgiving will range from the upper 40s to near 60, ending our stretch of unusually warm November weather.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday stay dry but cold, with morning lows in the 20s to near freezing and highs only in the 40s and 50s. Fire weather conditions will need watching from Thursday through Saturday due to very low humidity levels.
Rain chances don’t return until early next week, with several systems potentially bringing multiple rounds of showers.
