Dry conditions will continue across Chattooga County and the rest of Northwest Georgia through the day, but changes arrive tonight as the next weather system moves in. High clouds will continue to stream across the region, and while humidity levels will drop near fire-danger thresholds, the dry air is expected to ease after today.

Late tonight, moisture begins pushing into Northwest Georgia ahead of an approaching cold front. Light showers are expected to arrive between midnight and sunrise Sunday, with rain becoming more widespread as the day goes on. From Sunday through Tuesday, the area can expect scattered to widespread rain, with most locations receiving a quarter-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall by Sunday evening.

Today’s highs will reach the 50s to lower 60s across Northwest Georgia, with lows tonight falling into the 30s and lower 40s. Sunday will bring highs in the 50s locally as clouds and rain increase.

Looking ahead, another chance of rain is expected toward the end of the week as another system approaches.
