Northwest Georgia, including Chattooga County, is expected to see several days of unsettled weather as showers and thunderstorms move through the region over the coming week.

Forecasters say rain chances will remain in the forecast each day, with scattered storms possible as a cold front moves through the area. While widespread severe weather is not expected at this time, some storms could still produce gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall.

Rainfall totals are generally expected to remain modest, with most areas seeing around a quarter to half an inch, though isolated higher amounts are possible in stronger storms. The rain could provide some relief to ongoing dry conditions across parts of Northwest Georgia.

Temperatures will stay near seasonal averages, with highs in the 70s to low 80s through the weekend and into early next week. A brief cooldown is possible behind the front, but warmer conditions are expected to return quickly.

Looking ahead, a stronger system could bring more widespread showers and thunderstorms late Monday into Tuesday. There is a conditional risk for a few stronger storms, depending on how atmospheric conditions develop, with the potential for damaging winds and even a brief tornado in isolated areas.

Another round of rain is expected midweek before drier weather begins to move into the region by Thursday and Friday.

Residents in Chattooga County and across Northwest Georgia are encouraged to stay weather-aware as conditions can change quickly.
