The Internal Revenue Service is reminding taxpayers that the April 15 filing deadline is just days away and is encouraging anyone who still needs to file to take advantage of free tools and resources available at IRS.gov.
The IRS says the nation’s 2026 tax filing season opens Monday, January 26, 2026, when the agency will begin accepting and processing 2025 federal income tax returns. Taxpayers have until Wednesday, April 15, 2026 to file and pay any taxes due.
