A local man is facing drug and traffic charges following a late-night traffic stop in Chattooga County, according to an arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports, Summerville Police officers made contact with Barbara Ann Brock, 72, during a stop along Highway 114. Officers observed behavior consistent with drug use and conducted further investigation.
Authorities reported finding a substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with drug-related objects. Brock admitted to recent meth use and was taken into custody without incident.
She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession and use of drug-related objects. Her vehicle was released to a licensed driver, and the case remains active.
A routine traffic stop in the Trion area last Saturday night led to multiple charges, including a felony drug arrest, according to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
A traffic stop in Trion last week resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple drug-related charges after deputies say he attempted to discard narcotics during a pursuit.
According to the report, Deputy Riley Reeves observed a vehicle traveling on Central Avenue without functioning taillights in the early morning hours of March 26. When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to immediately pull over and made abrupt movements, at one point turning into the opposite lane before continuing south toward Highway 27.
During the pursuit, the deputy reported seeing an object thrown from the driver’s side window. After the vehicle eventually stopped, the driver—identified as 47-year-old Christopher Jeff Edwards—was detained. Authorities later recovered suspected narcotics from the area where the object was discarded.
Investigators say the recovered items included substances believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with related paraphernalia. Edwards was taken into custody and transported to jail without further incident. He faces multiple charges, including trafficking of controlled substances, possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II drugs, and abandonment of dangerous drugs.

According to the report, deputies approached a vehicle stopped on the roadside and made contact with the driver, identified as 55-year-old John Wayne Cook. While speaking with Cook, officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, giving them probable cause to conduct a search.
During the search, deputies located suspected marijuana, along with a clear plastic container holding a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Authorities also conducted a field test, which returned a positive result for fentanyl.
Cook was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. He was transported to jail without further incident.
