Georgia lawmakers have introduced a new bill that would expand the state’s restrictions on student cell phone use, potentially banning personal devices in high schools statewide.
A special election has been announced to fill the vacant seat in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District following the resignation of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. The district includes Chattooga County, along with parts of Northwest Georgia, and will soon see a field of candidates seeking to represent the region in Washington.
Georgia is one of the only states that does not offer a statewide, needs-based financial aid program for students who can’t afford college—and a new state Senate report is urging lawmakers to change that.
