GNTC To Offer Free Application Week For Fall Semester

Georgia Northwestern Technical College will waive application fees next week for students planning to enroll for the 2026 fall semester.

GNTC will host a Free Application Week from Monday, June 29, through Sunday, July 5. During that time, the college will waive the regular $25 application fee for all incoming students. Applicants will not need a special code to receive the fee waiver.

The admissions deadline for the fall semester is August 4, and fall classes are scheduled to begin August 17.

Students who need assistance can contact GNTC’s call center Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM until 4:15 PM at 866-983-4682. More information is also available on GNTC’s website by selecting “Apply Now.”

GNTC Offering Night Classes For Diesel Technician Program

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is making it easier for working adults and others with busy schedules to prepare for a career in the diesel industry by offering night classes in its Diesel Equipment Technology program.

According to GNTC, diesel technicians are in high demand as freight transportation continues to grow, creating an ongoing need for skilled professionals to maintain and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.

Graduates of the program can pursue careers in a variety of settings, including independent maintenance and repair shops, corporate fleet maintenance, truck leasing and rental operations, and trucking logistics facilities.

Early registration for fall classes is underway, with the registration deadline set for August 4.

Berry College Earns National Career Readiness Award

Berry College has received national recognition for its commitment to preparing students for successful careers, earning an honorable mention from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) for career readiness excellence.

College officials said the award recognizes Berry’s distinctive LifeWorks program, which provides students with meaningful paid work experiences and professional development opportunities throughout their college careers. More than 90 percent of Berry students participate in the program, which offers over 1,000 paid student jobs across more than 180 campus departments.

According to Berry College, 85 percent of graduating seniors credit their student work experiences and supervisors with helping them achieve their career goals. The college also reports that 99 percent of graduates have achieved a positive career outcome within six months of graduation for the past six consecutive years.

Dean of Personal and Professional Development Marc Hunsaker said the recognition reflects the college’s efforts to embed career readiness throughout the student experience, while President Sandeep Mazumder noted that the program helps students connect learning with leadership and future career success.

GNTC Accepting Applications For Assistant To The Registrar Position

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant to the Registrar.

The full-time position is based on GNTC’s Walker County Campus but will require travel to other college campuses as needed to meet operational requirements.

According to GNTC, the Assistant to the Registrar will report directly to the Assistant Registrar and provide administrative support for registration services, reporting requirements, and student record functions within the Office of the Registrar.

The position is an in-person role requiring a 40-hour work week.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College serves students across Northwest Georgia through multiple campus locations and offers a wide variety of academic and workforce development programs.

GNTC To Host Open Houses At All Six Campuses

Georgia Northwestern Technical College will host Open House events at all six of its campuses next week, giving prospective students and families a chance to learn more about programs, tour facilities, and meet faculty and staff.

The events will be held from 10 AM until noon.

Open Houses are scheduled for Tuesday, June 2nd at the Polk County Campus in Rockmart and the Walker County Campus in Rock Spring. On Wednesday, June 3rd, events will be held at the Gordon County Campus in Calhoun and the Whitfield Murray Campus in Dalton. On Thursday, June 4th, Open Houses will take place at the Catoosa County Campus in Ringgold and the Floyd County Campus in Rome.

Legare Price, associate vice president of Student Success at GNTC, said the events are a great opportunity for potential students and families to explore one of the college’s six campuses and see what GNTC has to offer.

Each two-hour event will include registration, a panel discussion, campus tours with program highlights, a presentation on GNTC’s benefits, and a step-by-step overview of the enrollment process.

Attendees will receive special giveaways and a code to waive the $25 application fee.
