Town of Trion Announces July 4 Holiday Closings, Garbage Collection Changes

The Town of Trion has announced its schedule for the upcoming Independence Day holiday.

Town officials say the Business Office, Gas Department, Recreation Department, and Maintenance Department will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.

Residents who normally have garbage collected on Fridays should note that Friday’s garbage route will be picked up on Thursday, July 2. All other residential garbage collection schedules will remain unchanged.

The Town reminds residents that any emergency involving the Police Department or Gas Department should be reported by calling 911, and dispatchers will notify the appropriate personnel.

Chattooga County Offices To Close Friday For Juneteenth

Chattooga County government offices will be closed Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day.

According to County Clerk Johnna Allen, the Chattooga County Transfer Station and all county dumpsites will remain open and operate on their regular schedules.

County offices will resume normal business hours on Monday, June 22.

City of Summerville Announces Memorial Day Closings

The City of Summerville has announced that all non-emergency city offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

City officials say the closure is part of the annual observance honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

While administrative offices will be closed for the holiday, emergency services including the Summerville Police Department and Summerville Fire Department will continue operating as normal throughout the weekend and holiday.

Regular business hours for city offices will resume on Tuesday, May 26.

City leaders are encouraging residents to have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend while taking time to remember and honor America’s fallen heroes.

Chattooga County Government Offices To Close April 3 For Good Friday

All Chattooga County Government offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of Good Friday.

County officials also say Chattooga County Transit will be closed, meaning no buses will be operating that day.

However, the Transfer Station and remote dump sites will remain open.

Normal county operations will resume on Monday, April 6, 2026.

In a statement, county officials thanked the public for their understanding and wished residents a meaningful and peaceful holiday.

Chattooga County Offices Closed Wednesday Through Friday for Christmas Holidays

Chattooga County residents are being reminded that all county offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday this week in observance of the Christmas holidays. The closure includes the Chattooga County Commissioner’s Office, the Chattooga County Tax Commissioner’s Office, and the Chattooga County Probate Judge’s Office, along with other county departments and offices.

Holiday Closures Announced

The City of Summerville offices will close at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, for the Thanksgiving holiday. City offices will reopen on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
