Trion Recreation Department Summer Baseball Registration Ends Today

Parents still have time to sign up their children for Trion Recreation Department Summer Baseball, but the registration deadline is today, Monday, June 8.

The summer league will offer three age divisions, including 6U Coach Pitch, 8U Coach Pitch, and 11U Machine Pitch. The season is scheduled to run from July 10 through August 14.

The registration fee is $30 per player, and player age eligibility is based on the child’s age as of September 1.

Families interested in participating are encouraged to register at Trion Recreation before today’s deadline. Officials remind parents that registrations must be completed by the end of the day to guarantee participation in this year’s summer program.

The summer baseball program provides young athletes with an opportunity to develop their skills, learn teamwork, and enjoy organized competition during the summer months.

Parents still have time to register their children for Trion Recreation Department summer baseball, but the deadline is quickly approaching.

Registration is now open for 6U and 8U coach pitch leagues along with an 11U machine pitch league. The season is scheduled to run from July 10th through August 14th.

The cost is $30 per player, and player age will be determined based on age as of September 1st.

Trion 6U Baseball Team Caps Off Undefeated 10-0 Season

The Trion 6U baseball team has plenty to celebrate after finishing the season with a perfect 10-0 record.

The young team went undefeated from start to finish, earning recognition as the only recreational baseball team in Chattooga County to complete the season without a loss.

The roster includes Adrian Bolton, Cru Womack, Josiah Collins, Ezrah Johnston, Kade Edgerton, Peyton Gilreath, Lancyn Whitten, Koleman Abernathy, Aiden Rogers, Oaklee Blackmon, Kamryn Murphy, Amaris McCutchins, Ryan Lowrance, and Aiden Wallin.

Coaches Sandy Abernathy, Randall Abernathy, Jason Rogers, Brandy Rogers, and Mason Gilreath helped lead the team through the memorable season.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on an outstanding year for Trion 6U baseball.

“Battle at the Bighorn” Tournament Set for Summerville Rec Center

A big weekend of youth baseball is coming to Chattooga County as the “Battle at the Bighorn” All-Star Rec Tournament takes place May 29th and 30th at the Summerville Recreation Center.

The event, formerly known as “Rumble by the River,” will feature recreation league teams only, with no select teams allowed. Age divisions include 6U co-ed along with 8U, 10U, and 12U boys baseball.

Games will be played at the Summerville Rec Center on Highway 100, with a three-game guarantee for participating teams. The entry fee is set at $75 per team, and GRPA rules will apply throughout the tournament.

Organizers say the two-day event will crown one champion, bringing together young athletes from across Chattooga County and northwest Georgia for a competitive and family-friendly weekend.
