Trion Recreation Department Summer Baseball Registration Ends Today

Parents still have time to sign up their children for Trion Recreation Department Summer Baseball, but the registration deadline is today, Monday, June 8.

The summer league will offer three age divisions, including 6U Coach Pitch, 8U Coach Pitch, and 11U Machine Pitch. The season is scheduled to run from July 10 through August 14.

The registration fee is $30 per player, and player age eligibility is based on the child’s age as of September 1.

Families interested in participating are encouraged to register at Trion Recreation before today’s deadline. Officials remind parents that registrations must be completed by the end of the day to guarantee participation in this year’s summer program.

The summer baseball program provides young athletes with an opportunity to develop their skills, learn teamwork, and enjoy organized competition during the summer months.

Trion 10U Softball Team Finishes Undefeated, Advances To District Tournament

Congratulations to Jordon Butler’s Trion 10U softball team on an undefeated season and a trip to the district tournament.

The team completed the season without a loss and will now continue postseason play at districts representing the Trion community.

Team members include:

Emma Blackmon, Millie Blackmon, Chrissie Muller, Riley Skelton, Charlee Tittle, Peyton Butler, Ella Jo Statham, Sophia Dodson, Hazel Crow, Aubree Stoker, Kierra Henderson, Raelyn Potts and Kyleigh Tanner.

The coaching staff includes Head Coach Jordon Butler along with assistants Trey Skelton and Travis Tittle.

WZQZ congratulates the players and coaches on a tremendous season and wishes them the best of luck at districts.

Trion 6U Baseball Team Caps Off Undefeated 10-0 Season

The Trion 6U baseball team has plenty to celebrate after finishing the season with a perfect 10-0 record.

The young team went undefeated from start to finish, earning recognition as the only recreational baseball team in Chattooga County to complete the season without a loss.

The roster includes Adrian Bolton, Cru Womack, Josiah Collins, Ezrah Johnston, Kade Edgerton, Peyton Gilreath, Lancyn Whitten, Koleman Abernathy, Aiden Rogers, Oaklee Blackmon, Kamryn Murphy, Amaris McCutchins, Ryan Lowrance, and Aiden Wallin.

Coaches Sandy Abernathy, Randall Abernathy, Jason Rogers, Brandy Rogers, and Mason Gilreath helped lead the team through the memorable season.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on an outstanding year for Trion 6U baseball.

Trion Recreation Department to Host Card Night January 7

Card collectors and gaming fans are invited to gather for Trion Card Night on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Trion Recreation Department.

The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the recreation department located at 90 Dalton Street in Trion. Organizers say the evening is open to collectors, traders, and players of all experience levels.

Featured cards include sports cards such as baseball, football, and basketball, along with trading card games (TCG) like Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering. Tables will be available for reservation for those looking to trade, sell, or play during the event.
