A routine traffic stop in the Trion area last Saturday night led to multiple charges, including a felony drug arrest, according to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on April 4 along Mountain View Road near Williams Cemetery when a deputy observed a white pickup truck traveling without a valid tag and initiated a stop.

During the investigation, the driver was identified as 31-year-old Austin Ryan Parker. Deputies determined Parker did not have a valid driver’s license and was operating the vehicle while his license was suspended.

Authorities also reported that Parker appeared nervous during the stop, prompting further investigation. After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, deputies located a clear container believed to contain cocaine.

According to the report, Parker admitted the substance was cocaine and that he intended to sell it. The substance was seized and placed into evidence.

Parker was taken into custody and transported to the Chattooga County Jail. He faces charges including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, driving with a suspended license, and operating a vehicle without proper registration.

The vehicle was released to a family member at the scene.
