Town of Trion Maintains Working Relationship with Local Company

The Town of Trion awarded a bid to local business B & J Construction for the demolition of ten structures within the town limits that are currently owned by the town. The old houses will be torn down and the property cleared according to the bid placed by the town

The Trion Town Council awarded the bid to the company, which owned by B.J. Gamble – but only after Gamble agreed to pay $8,000 in back taxes owed to the town.

According to a report by the Summerville News, when council members awarded the bid to Gamble's company they included language requiring him to pay those taxes, before moving forward with the project.

Gamble agreed to those stipulations, and Trion Mayor Larry Stansell, has said that the taxes have now been paid to the town.
