Mr. Arthur Lee “Skeet” Perry, age 80, of Summerville, GA, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Advent Health Redmond.

Arthur was born in Menlo, GA to Nathaniel and Julia May Perry on February 11, 1942. Skeet started working at an early age and had many different jobs. He retired at age 65 from S.I. Story Lumber Mill. He spent a great deal of his retirement years living life just as he felt he was old enough to do, which meant whatever he wanted! A lot of that time was spent with his siblings enjoying being together. He became ill in his late 70’s, and from those days until his final rest, he still did all the hobbies that he enjoyed. He is greatly loved and missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Jean Perry; son, Rodney Cox; and daughter, Michelle Addison.

Mr. Perry is survived by his children, Julia Perry, Carol Perry, Tara Davis, Jerome Thompson, and Steven Thompson; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Skeet has a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Friday, September 30, 2022, at Mason Funeral Home.

Mr. John Richard Stewart, Jr., age 67, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday September 23, 2022, at a Rome, GA hospital.

Mr. Stewart was born February 11, 1955, in Greenwood, S.C., the son of the late John Richard and Dorothy Ivester Stewart. Mr. Stewart was employed with Wright Sanitation, and was an avid fisherman & hunter. He loved GA football, the Atlanta Braves , and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed reading western books and most of all being with his family and grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hazel Mincey.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Stewart to whom he was married 13 years; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Mark Eichhorn; step-son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Ida Mincey; step-daughter and son-in-law Jeannie and Steven Lane; sister and brother-in-law, Holly and Lewis Moss, and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Stewart will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Wright officiating. Interment will follow at the Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mark Eichhorn, Mike Wright, Steven Lane, Johnny Rouse, Sean Mincey, and Lewis Moss. Honorary pallbearer will be Caleb Eichhorn..

Mr. Stewart will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Miss Amber Sheryl McDaniel age 39 of Menlo, GA passed away September 22, 2022 in Rockmart, GA.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Miss McDaniel will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 29 at he chapel of Mason Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 until the service hour.
