Mrs. Rita Faye Campbell Jones, Obit (C)

Mrs. Rita Faye Campbell Jones, age 62 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Rita was born in Lafayette, Georgia on June 2, 1960, daughter of the late Bryant Campbell and Thelma Jean Faulkner Campbell. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, having a good time and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Campbell and Phillip Campbell.

Rita is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelli and James Broome and Jamie and Randall Gray; companion and soul mate, Ernest Ragland; honorary family, Randy Ragland and Ginger McCarty; sisters and brother-in-law, Julie and James Dodd and Abbi Searels; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Dinah Campbell and John and Ginger Faulkner; grandchildren, Courtney(Bradley) Womack, Kaylie Broome, Ashton(Savannah) Broome, Gracyn Broome, Gracie Lands and Chelsey Lands; great grandchildren, Cru Womack and Archer Broome; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Interment services for Rita will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ashton Broome, James Broome, Bradley Womack, Brent Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, Randy Ragland, and Gracyn Broome.

Rita will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.

Lyerly First Baptist Church will have showers available for men and women (4 showers for men and 4 showers for women) from 8am until dusk daily.

Mrs. Marlene Tinney, Obit (R)

MRS. MARLENE TINNEY, age 82, of Allen Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Trion, Georgia on December 21, 1939 to the late Wilburn Cleo and Lucille Mildred Donald Dolquery. Mrs. Tinney was Baptist by Faith and attended the New Antioch Baptist Church, where she taught the Ladies Sunday School Class, directed Bible School several times, and helped with the Christmas play. She also served as pianist at the Frog Pond Baptist Church in earlier years. Mrs. Tinney worked for the Chattooga County Tax office for 35 years, retiring in 2013. She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, and working puzzles in free time. In addition to Parents was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Sonny Tinney.

Surviving are daughters, Wanda (Dale) Bain and Phyllis (Mike) Odom; grandchildren, Bucky (Carla) Chisolm, Melissa (Paul) Chamlee, Chris Bain, and Kevin Bain; 10 great grandchildren, Lexi Craig, Kayleigh Byars, Jaci Cleveland, Avri Chamlee, Addi Belle Chamlee, Layton Chisolm, Harper Anne Chisolm, Ren Chamlee, Adalee Bain, and Scout Chisolm; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9th, at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Helton and Mike Odom officiating, interment in Lyerly Cemetery. Active Pallbearers Bucky Chisolm, Chris Bain, Kevin Bain, Paul Chamlee, and Kimbren Dowdy; Honorary Pallbearers are the Women of New Antioch Baptist Church. The Family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
