It looks like the Chattooga Indians and the Trion Bulldogs will rekindle their on-field rivalry next year for the first time since 1971 after the new GHSA Classifications were announced today. Trion appealed the GHSA’s decision to move Trion to AA and won that appeal in a 15-4 vote today.
The GHSA made a move yesterday that is sure to send shockwaves through the high school sports landscape in the state of Georgia and especially here in Chattooga County.

The Trion Bulldogs will make a 4 hour drive down south today to Rochelle, GA to take on the Wilcox County Patriots in the second round of the GHSA playoffs.

The oldest rivalry in the state of Georgia will add another chapter tonight for the 87th time when the Trion Bulldogs travel to Chickamauga to take on the Gordon Lee Trojans.
The Trion 1st Baptist Church youth group will be selling BBQ plates and Brunswick Stew this Saturday. All proceeds from the sale will go towards the youth mission trip fund.
Friday night football returns to the airwaves tonight on WZQZ as Trion heads south to Atlanta and Chattooga welcomes Dade County to the Little Big Horn! WZQZ will have a live video stream of the Trion vs BEST Academy game on the WZQZ Facebook page.
Friday night football is back on the air tonight as Chattooga travels to Gordon Central and Trion hosts Southeast Whitfield.
You would have to search hard over the last 10 or 15 years to find a home game for Trion where the stakes were any higher than they will be Friday night at Sam R. McCain stadium.
