FBI: Beware Of National Championship Ticket Scams

The Georgia Bulldogs take on the TCU Horned Frogs next week in Los Angeles, and UGA fans are the hunt for tickets to that highly coveted game. But officials warn game goers to beware of ticket scams.  FBI Atlanta Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Seres says that if a ticket prices looks too good to be true, it probably is. Seres says many scammers also claim to be working through Ticketmaster or other broker dealer. He says that could be a red flag you should be aware of. And if your trying to sell a ticket, he warns to not post a picture of the bar code online.

Rome Woman Charged With DUI At Checkpoint

A Rome woman was charged with DUI and DUI/Child endangerment after going through a Summerville Police checkpoint near the intersection of Washington Street and Penn Street around midnight on January 2nd.  Police say that Ka’Shay Michaela Bryant admitted to having consumed alcohol before driving, but couldn’t tell officers how much she had to drink.  Bryant was arrested and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.

Registrars Office Reopening January 9th

Chattooga County Probate Judge Gary Woods says that the Chattooga County Registrars Office will be reopening on Monday, January 9, 2023.  The office was closed on December 28, 2022 after the heating system in the building failed.  The heating unit has been repaired, but the staff is attending required election training this week.
