The Chattooga Senior Center is inviting the community to participate in a hotdog fundraiser on Friday, February 21st, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The aim is to raise money for senior programs and activities. Trion Elementary School will host the 8th Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance, themed “Under the City Lights,” on February 7, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Trion School Cafeteria. This event allows girls to bond with fathers or they may be escorted by an uncle, older brother or other significant male family member. Families in the Trion community: registration for Trion Pre-K classes opens on February 14, 2025. Parents and guardians can pick up enrollment packets at the Trion Elementary office starting at 8:30 AM. Please note that packets will not be available for pickup prior to this time. To ensure a smooth registration process, families are reminded to bring several important documents on the registration day. Required items include proof of Georgia residency, such as a utility bill, the child’s birth certificate, and a photo ID of the legal guardian. Additionally, parents should prepare to provide a Social Security card for the child, the 3300 Form (which includes ear, eye, dental, and nutrition information), and the 3231 Form (which verifies immunizations). Middle school students, grades five through eight, in the Chattooga County School system are invited to soccer tryouts that will be held at the Practice Soccer Field at Chattooga High School, located next to the softball fields. Girls will have their turn on Tuesday, February 4th, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, while boys are scheduled for Thursday, February 6th, during the same time frame.
The Miss Menlo Pageant is returning on February 22 at the Menlo Elementary School Gymnasium, starting at 5 p. m. This annual event, organized by the Menlo Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), celebrates beauty, talent, and community spirit and invites the whole community to participate. The evening will showcase contestants vying for the Miss Menlo crown in a display of elegance and charm. Admission costs $5 for adults and $2 for students, while children three and under can attend for free. Girls ages 0-15 are eligible to enter if they are Menlo students, have a sibling who is, or are Menlo residents. Registration forms are available in the front office, with a deadline of February 20.
The Chattooga High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) program is pleased to announce its seventh annual Cupid’s Bliss Ball, a father-daughter dance on February 10 from 6 to 8 p. m. in the school cafeteria. Tickets cost $25 per couple, with an extra $5 for each additional girl. Guests can enjoy food, games, prizes, and dancing. This event not only allows fathers and daughters to bond, but all proceeds will help HOSA students prepare for state-level medical competitions.
