Georgia gas prices continue to decline. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.24 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, which is 6 cents less than a week ago, 36 cents less than a month ago, but 7 cents more than this time last year.
The Georgia State Patrol released a preliminary report about an accident last Friday afternoon on Highway 27 at Ellen Street in Summerville, near El Puebleto Mexican Restaurant. According to the state patrol, at 2:25 pm, Troopers from Post 38 Rome responded to a two-vehicle crash on GA 1 (Highway 27) at Ellen Street, in Chattooga County. A 2015 Kia Optima was traveling south on GA 1 in the center turn lane, and a 2006 Honda CRV was traveling north on GA 1 in the left lane. The driver of the Kia Optima made a left turn directly into the path of the Honda. There were no serious injuries reported in connection with the accident.

Residents can learn about their risk for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and other chronic, serious conditions with the screenings at the Chattooga County Agricultural Building – Chattooga County Extension on Middle School Drive in Summerville.
