Pinwheel Ceremony Thursday At Dowdy Park

April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month as well as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Traditionally the local child abuse and neglect prevention agencies kick the month off with the planting of a pinwheel garden. Why pinwheels? By its very nature, the pinwheel connotes playfulness, joy, and childhood. It has come to serve as a physical reminder of the great childhoods we want for all children.  The Chattooga Family Connection and Chattooga County DFCS invites the public to the annual ceremony, which will be held at Dowdy Park in Summerville on Thursday, April 13 at 11 AM.
