Falling Tree Branch Damages Vehicle On Commerce Street In Summerville

A routine drive on Summerville’s Commerce Street took an unexpected turn late Thursday afternoon when a falling tree branch struck a vehicle, damaging its windshield.

Summerville Police responded to the scene at approximately 5:55 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2025, after a report from the vehicle’s driver, Austin Campbell.

According to police reports, Mr. Campbell stated he was traveling northbound on Commerce Street, near Cleghorn Street, when a branch suddenly fell from a tree. The branch struck his vehicle, causing visible damage to the front windshield. Responding officers confirmed the damage and noted pieces of the tree limb in the bed of Mr. Campbell’s truck.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Mr. Campbell requested a police report be made for insurance purposes.
