A deputy with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at Walmart last Thursday night after an employee called to say that she had been threatened. When the deputy spoke with the complainant, she said that while she was on her break, an ex-boyfriend came to Walmart and asked her why she wasn’t talking to him.  The woman said the ex-boyfriend then threw a box at her vehicle and then pointed a gun at her and told her that if she didn’t talk to him he would “shoot her and her boyfriend”.  The suspect was driving an older model white Dodge truck that was missing a front bumper, according to the complainant.  The responding deputy came back to Walmart when the complainant got off work to make sure she got safely to her vehicle and a report of the incident was filed at the sheriff’s office.

Opposition to a resolution honoring late House Speaker David Ralston resulted in the state senator that represents Chattooga, Walker, Dade and Catoosa Counties being banned from the House floor on Thursday at the state capitol.

The Summerville Police Department released a report this week about a drug bust that took place on Martin Street in Summerville on March 6th.  According to the report, police received tips that drugs were being sold from a 968 Martin Street Address.

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate the theft of a vehicle on Talliferro Springs Road in Lyerly earlier this month.  According to a report released this week by the sheriff’s office, on March 5th, a responding deputy met with Justin Pettyjohn who said that the day before he had left for work around 7 AM and when he returned home that afternoon a gold Saturn vehicle was missing from the residence.  Pettyjohn identified an East Ridge, Tennessee woman who had stayed at the residence the night before and was there when he left.  When he returned home, the woman and the vehicle were missing.  Pettyjohn told the deputy that he and the woman are “just friends”, but his friend would not answer his calls concerning the whereabouts of the vehicle.  The vehicle was entered into the statewide database as being stolen.
