Residents across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia are waking up to the coolest morning temperatures they’ll feel for at least the next week, with early Saturday lows in the upper 20s to low 30s. After that chilly start, Saturday turns sunny and pleasant, with afternoon highs climbing into the upper 50s to low 60s.
By Saturday night, conditions remain favorable for cooling, but a warmer air mass moving in will keep overnight lows milder, generally in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Sunday turns noticeably warmer, and while most of the day looks mild, a weak front could bring extra clouds and a few spots of light rain, mainly across the western half of North Georgia, which includes parts of Northwest Georgia. Rain chances should be limited and light, with dry air returning Sunday afternoon and highs holding in the low to mid 60s.
Looking ahead, the outlook for the upcoming week is mostly dry, with temperatures climbing steadily.
By Christmas Day, highs across Northwest Georgia are expected to reach the low to mid 70s, running well above average for late December.
