5th Annual Chattooga River Fest Set For June 13 In Trion

The 5th Annual Chattooga River Fest is set to return to Trion on Saturday, June 13, bringing a full day of outdoor fun, live music, and family-friendly activities to Northwest Georgia.

The event will begin at 10 AM at the Trion Recreation Department and is open to the public.

Organizers say this year’s festival will feature vendors, festival food, outdoor life demonstrations, and educational talks focused on the Chattooga River and surrounding environment. Attendees can also enjoy live local music throughout the day, with The Band Chickamauga scheduled to headline at 4 PM.

Family activities will include a free KidZone with access to the splash pad, as well as a cornhole tournament and other recreational events.

A kayak raffle sponsored by Atrium Health EMS is also planned, along with a free float on the Lower Chattooga River, with additional details expected to be announced soon.

Organizers say the event is pet-friendly but note that pets must be leashed, well-behaved, and meet specific guidelines for safety.

The Chattooga River Fest is organized by Cindy L. Rivers McGraw and the Chattooga River Group, with support from local sponsors including Atrium Health EMS and Pine Ridge Outdoor Supply.

The City of Summerville is gearing up for a unique and inclusive community event designed for individuals with special needs.

Mayor Rickey Hughes announced that Summerville will host a “Touch A Truck” sensory-friendly event on June 13th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on East Washington Street.

The event will feature a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, including police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, tractors, tow trucks, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the vehicles up close in a welcoming, reduced-noise environment tailored to sensory sensitivities.

Organizers say the event is focused on creating a friendly, supportive atmosphere with hands-on exploration, allowing children and families to interact with local first responders and community helpers in a comfortable setting.

Free Kona Ice will also be available, thanks to sponsorships from United Community Bank and Southeast First National Bank.

Mayor Hughes expressed appreciation to local exhibitors and sponsors for helping bring the event to life, noting it will be a special day for families across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia.

The community is invited to come out and enjoy a morning of learning, exploration, and fun in a safe and inclusive environment.

The City of Summerville is encouraging vendors to reserve their space now for the upcoming Hwy 27 Longest Yard Sale, set for August 6th through 8th at Dowdy Park.

While the popular event is still a few months away, officials say vendor spots are already available and expected to fill up quickly. Spaces are being offered for just five dollars per day, giving individuals a chance to clear out unused items and make extra money during one of the area’s busiest shopping events.

Dowdy Park, located in the heart of downtown Summerville, will serve as a central hub for shoppers traveling along Highway 27 during the multi-state yard sale event. Organizers say the location provides strong foot traffic and excellent visibility for vendors.

Those interested in securing a spot can contact the City of Summerville to request a vendor form and lock in their space ahead of time.

The Summerville Natural Gas Friday Night Concert Series is set to return this spring and summer, bringing free live music to downtown Summerville’s East Washington Street Entertainment District.

The concert lineup kicks off April 24 at 7 p.m. with Pink Houses, followed by the 1st Generation Band on May 15, and Strictly Skynyrd on June 19. Each performance will begin at 7 p.m. on the outdoor stage, offering a mix of classic rock, soul, and Southern favorites for music fans of all ages.

Hosted in the heart of downtown and sponsored by Summerville Main Street, the series is designed to bring the community together for evenings of entertainment, food, and local shopping. Organizers encourage residents and visitors to come out, enjoy the atmosphere, and support local businesses during each event.

The City of Summerville is now accepting applications for food vendors for the 2026 Celebrate Independence Festival and Fireworks.

The annual event will be held Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center.

City officials say the food vendor application is now available online through the Summerville Parks and Recreation website and will remain open through April 10.

Vendors selected to participate will be notified on April 17. The cost for a 15-by-15 vendor space is $75, and the fee must be paid by June 1.

The Celebrate Independence Festival is one of the community’s biggest summer events, featuring food vendors, family activities, and fireworks.

LaFayette Farmers Market-GA is inviting local makers, growers, and producers to apply to become vendors for the 2026 market season. Market organizers say the LaFayette Farmers Market is a producer-only, community-centered market focused on supporting local agriculture, artisans, and small businesses—welcoming vendors who grow it, raise it, bake it, or make it.

All vendors, including those who participated in past seasons, are required to re-apply for 2026. The market will run Saturdays from April 25 through August 29, operating 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine, in Downtown LaFayette, Georgia.
