State Representative Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee) released his weekly legislative report for the final week of the Georgia General Assembly’s 2022 session. Rep. Lumsden talks about the state budget and how it was adjusted for a record-breaking revenue year. Workforce development, mental health, law enforcement, Medicaid and education all benefited from the budget. Georgia’s teachers will be seeing a $2,000 raise thanks to the budget. You can read Rep. Mr. Kellett Monroe Murphy, age 93 of Gaylesville, Alabama passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at his residence.
MRS. EDNA LEA SHIVER HELTON, age 87, of Summerville, Georgia passed away Tuesday morning, April 12, 2022, in the local nursing home. Born in Crossland, Georgia on October 31, 1934, She was a daughter of the late J. C. and Allie Mae Williams Shiver, wife of William Buck Helton. Mrs. Helton was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Rebeaming Department of Mount Vernon Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, the late Jack Austin Warren a brother, the late Otis Shiver and a step daughter, Becky Dean.
