A Summerville man who says he is running in the Republican Primary for sheriff says that charges that were brought against him in March of last year involving an altercation with a school bus driver were “exaggerated”. Edwin Lee Raughton told the local newspaper last week that Chattooga County Chief Deputy Kevin Woods couldn’t charge him with a felony because “there wasn’t enough evidence”.
According to a report recently released by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a fifty-four-year-old Summerville woman was arrested at a local motel on the last day of January after another woman accused her of sexually assaulting her inside a motel room.

Agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force brought charges against a Highway 337, Menlo woman earlier this month after they found drugs in her possession. Agents spoke with Crystal Michelle Patterson, age thirty-nine, and found drugs on her person. According to court records, Patterson was hiding drugs on her person. Agents also found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue. Patterson was charged with felony drug possession and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
