The AMI Cemetery Committee is asking for donations for the upkeep of the cemetery on Jamestown Road in Menlo. The cemetery committee says that donations can be sent to Sue Gilley at PO Box 25, Menlo, Georgia 30731. The cemetery committee also asks that family members refrain from using glass containers at the cemetery.
The Chattooga County School System released their weekly COVID report on Friday of last week. According to the report, there were two positive cases at Chattooga High School with fourteen students in quarantine. Leroy Massey reported no COVID cases and had three students in quarantine. Lyerly Elementary had one positive COVID case and four students in quarantine. Menlo Elementary had one positive COVID case and forty-four students in quarantine. Summerville Middle School reported no positive cases and seven students in quarantine.
As May welcomes in warmer weather and the motorcycle riding season begins to peak, the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) Motorcycle Safety Program (GMSP) wants to remind all motorists that May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the message is to “Share The Road.”

The Town of Trion is advertising for bids for a new roof for Trion Town Hall. The town will be taking bids until June 1, 2021. According to the bid advertisement, the work will not just be a new exterior roof but will also include new ceiling insulation and ceiling tiles and lighting.
