The Summerville-Trion Rotary Club is offering $1,000 to high school seniors at both Chattooga and Trion High Schools. The awards are based on the student’s performance with consideration of the ACT or SAT composite scores, cumulative GPA, financial need, extracurricular activities and work activities. The scholarship applications are due to the student’s school’s guidance office by March 24th.
The Trion Fire Department has released their monthly report for February. The Trion Fire Department responded to 8 residential alarm fires; 4 commercial alarm fires and 3 woods fires or illegal burns. Also, the department worked 7 vehicle accidents and did 13 medical assists and responded to 1 downed power line. The Trion Fire Department had a total of 36 calls for the month February.
On March 06 2023, Summerville Police Detectives and Lookout Mountain Judicial Drug Task Force Agents seized approximately 6 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and $4,763 in U.S. Currency from a residence that was located inside the city limits of Summerville.
Maurice Brown (48) of Summerville, was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a Housing Project.
