Storm Cleanup Continues

Downed trees and downed power lines were still being dealt with on Saturday after strong storms ripped through Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia on Friday.   Several hundred Chattooga County residents were still without power on Saturday morning – including both Georgia Power and North Georgia EMC customers.

Atlanta Rhythm Section At Chattooga Riverfest In June

Chattooga Riverfest is coming up in June and organizers of the event have announced that Atlanta Rhythm Section will be performing at this year’s event.  This is the second year for Chattooga River Fest and the concert by Atlanta Rhythm Section is being sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.  Chattooga Riverfest will also feature a 5.34 mile Kayak Paddle, a fishing tournament, fish cook-off and cornhole tournament.  There will also be a free Kid Zone and a vendor market at the event.

Chattooga County Young Farmers Poultry Grower Class

The Chattooga Young Farmers Association will be hosting a poultry growers class for poultry producers in Chattooga County.  The class will feature Jess Campbell from Auburn University.  The poultry growers class and meal is free for all poultry producers and Young Farmers and is sponsored by Equipment Outlet. The class will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 7 PM at the Chattooga County Ag Building.  Those wishing to attend should RSVP to Young Farmer Director Lauren Jarett by March 24th.

New Mammography Unit To Be Stationed In Chattooga County

More women in rural areas of northwest Georgia will have access to mobile mammograms because of funding for a second mobile mammography coach for Atrium Health Floyd.
