Chattooga High School and middle school athletes have a full schedule ahead this week, with teams competing in softball, football, volleyball and cross country.

The action begins Monday, August 24, when the Chattooga Lady Indians softball team hosts Armuchee at 5:30 PM.

It will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Armuchee won the first matchup 9-2 on August 6. Chattooga enters Monday’s game with a 2-5 record, while Armuchee is 8-1. Chattooga is coming off a 13-1 loss to Gordon Lee Thursday, while Armuchee defeated Heard County 3-1.

Three Chattooga teams are scheduled for competition Tuesday, August 25.

The Chattooga Middle School football team will be at home against Ashworth. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

The Lady Indians softball team will travel to face Christian Heritage in a region contest scheduled for 5 PM, according to the athletic schedule provided by Chattooga High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Mark Turner.

Chattooga volleyball will also be on the road Tuesday, traveling to Rome for matches against Rome and Dalton Academy. Matches are scheduled for 6 and 7 PM.

The volleyball team enters the week after competing Saturday. Chattooga is 11-3 following a 2-0 loss to Armuchee and is scheduled to face Dalton Academy Tuesday in Region 7-AA competition.

Another busy day is scheduled for Thursday, August 27.

The Chattooga JV football team travels to LaFayette for a 5:30 PM kickoff.

At home, the Lady Indians softball team will face Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:30 PM.

Chattooga volleyball will also compete at home Thursday, hosting Woodland and Cedartown. Matches are scheduled for 5 and 7 PM.

The week’s athletic schedule concludes Saturday, August 29, when Chattooga’s cross country team travels to Heritage High School for the Front Runner Star Stride. Competition is scheduled to begin at 8 AM.

The schedule gives Chattooga athletes competition on four days during the week, with several opportunities for local fans to see the Indians and Lady Indians at home.
