The Chattooga Indians suffered a tough road loss Friday night, falling to the Fannin County Rebels 45-7 in Blue Ridge.
Chattooga entered Friday’s game hoping to build on the previous week’s 27-14 victory over Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, but the Rebels proved too much for the Indians.
Fannin County came into the contest riding a three-game winning streak, including a 56-14 victory over Gordon Central the previous week. The Rebels continued their strong offensive performance against Chattooga, putting 45 points on the scoreboard while holding the Indians to a single touchdown.
The victory marked Fannin County’s fourth consecutive win and improved the Rebels’ record to 6-4 on the season.
For Chattooga, the loss drops the Indians to 2-7 overall with one regular-season game remaining.
The Indians will close out their regular season on the road against Christian Heritage in Dalton on Thursday, November 5, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 PM.
Chattooga will be looking to finish the season with a victory after a challenging year that included wins over Gordon Central and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

Chattooga High School and middle school athletes have a full schedule ahead this week, with teams competing in softball, football, volleyball and cross country.

With Spring Break underway, Chattooga High School athletic activities will be limited over the coming week, according to school officials, though a few baseball games are still on the schedule.
The Chattooga Indians varsity baseball team will face Christian Heritage in a three-game stretch during the break. The series begins Tuesday, April 7, at home with a 5:30 p.m. first pitch. The teams will meet again Thursday, April 9, on the road at 5:30 p.m., before returning to Chattooga on Friday, April 10, for another home game at 5:30 p.m.
Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Mark Turner said the lighter schedule gives students, athletes, and staff time to rest and recharge ahead of the final weeks of the school year. He also noted that graduation is now just seven weeks away, marking an important milestone as the academic year begins to wind down.
Students and staff will return to campus on April 14 following Spring Break, as preparations continue for the end of the school year.
