The Chattooga County Young Farmers are once again offering Georgia-Grown Vidalia onions for sale as the 2026 season gets underway.

According to the group, the order deadline is April 17, with pickup tentatively planned for the last week of April. Customers can place an order through a Young Farmer member or by scanning the QR code on the sale flyer.

This year’s sale comes as Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J. Harper and the Vidalia Onion Committee have officially announced April 13, 2026, as the pack date for the 2026 Vidalia onion season. That means the state’s world-famous sweet onions will soon begin shipping to grocery stores and other outlets, marking the start of another highly anticipated season for one of Georgia’s most recognized farm products.

Vidalia onions are known for their mild, sweet flavor and are available only for a limited time each year, typically from April through early September. The annual pack date is determined by growing conditions and is meant to ensure onions meet quality standards before reaching consumers.

The Chattooga County Young Farmers sale includes several order options. Prices listed on the flyer are $8 for 5 pounds, $12 for 10 pounds, $25 for 25 pounds, and $40 for 50 pounds.

Organizers say the fundraiser gives local residents a chance to enjoy fresh Vidalia onions while also supporting the Young Farmers program in Chattooga County.
