Chattooga Chamber to Host Lunch & Learn on United Way’s 211 Resource Program

 

The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce will host its first Lunch & Learn following the summer break on Monday, August 17, featuring a presentation on the United Way’s 211 resource program.

The event will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hurley Community Development Center, located at 10050 Commerce Street in Summerville.

United Way is sponsoring the catered luncheon, which is open to the public. Director Alli Mitchell Ellard will provide an overview of the 211 program, a free and confidential service that connects individuals with resources for food, housing, utilities, healthcare, employment and disaster relief.

The Chamber asks those planning to attend to make a reservation to assist with catering arrangements.

Chattooga Chamber to Host End of Summer Member Luau

The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce is inviting members to celebrate the season during its 5:30 Club — End of the Summer Member Luau on Thursday, August 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The networking event will be held at 10050 Commerce Street in Summerville and offers Chamber members a relaxed opportunity to connect with fellow business professionals in a casual setting.

Guests are encouraged to come as they are or dress in their best tropical attire for a chance to win a prize. Nibbles and spirits will be provided, along with non-alcoholic beverages.

The Chamber’s monthly 5:30 Club is designed to help members build relationships, exchange ideas, and enjoy an evening of fellowship outside the workplace.

According to the Chamber, the event is intended to be a social and networking opportunity where attendees can talk shop—or anything but work. Dos Maguey’s will offer drink specials, and the Chamber will provide appetizers for those attending.

The Chamber is not hosting its regular luncheons during June and July and is instead offering these lower-key summer networking gatherings.

Community Connect Day Planned for Downtown Summerville This Saturday

The City of Summerville and the Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce are inviting the public to attend Community Connect Day this Saturday from noon until 3 PM at the Summerville Train Depot.

The family-friendly event will feature local organizations, churches, clubs, agencies, and volunteer groups from across the community. Organizers say the goal is to help residents learn more about available services, volunteer opportunities, and ways to become involved in the community.

The event also coincides with the arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad steam engine passenger train, bringing visitors and tourists into downtown Summerville.

Food vendors and informational booths will line East Washington Street throughout the afternoon. Community leaders say the event is designed to connect people with resources while showcasing everything Chattooga County has to offer.

Chattooga Chamber To Host Marketing Lunch And Learn May 20

The Chattooga Chamber will host its next Lunch and Learn event on Wednesday, May 20, with “Marketing 101 Part 2.”

The program will feature Dr. Heather Morgan, a marketing professor at Kennesaw State University and founder of Morgan Marketing Associates. Morgan specializes in retail and digital marketing strategy, helping businesses improve messaging, reach the right audience, and grow.

The catered lunch is open to the public, but reservations are required. Admission is $12 for Chattooga Chamber members and $17 for non-members.
