Chattooga County officials are now accepting applications for an HR/Payroll Administrator, a key position responsible for overseeing payroll operations and a wide range of human resources functions for county government. The role involves preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll, maintaining payroll records, and handling required reporting to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
The Walker County Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Courthouse Annex IV, 201 S. Duke Street in LaFayette. The meeting will be streamed live on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Chattooga County property owners have just nine days left to pay their 2025 property taxes. Earlier this year, Chattooga County Commissioner Andy Allen and Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton announced that the deadline would be extended to Tuesday, December 10, 2025, giving residents extra time after a delay in the mailing of tax bills.
