Summerville Man Charged With DUI Following Traffic Stop

A Summerville man faces multiple charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Summerville Police Department.

According to citations provided to WZQZ, Antonio Francisco Tomas, 37, of Summerville, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Maintain Lane.

The citations indicate the incident occurred on Sixth Avenue within the city limits of Summerville. The reporting officer noted that Tomas was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was considered less safe to drive. The citation states that a breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.

A separate citation alleges that Tomas failed to maintain a single lane of travel and was involved in a vehicle accident while impaired.

The case is scheduled to be heard in Summerville Municipal Court at a later date.

Floyd County Deputy Arrested On DUI Charge In Rome

A Floyd County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested early Saturday morning following a traffic stop on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome.

According to reports, city police stopped 32-year-old Matthew Zachery Fuller of Silver Creek after officers noticed him failing to maintain his lane of travel.

During the traffic stop, officers said they determined Fuller was driving under the influence.

Fuller was taken into custody and charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

Summerville Man Jailed In Rome Following DUI Traffic Stop

A Summerville man was arrested and jailed in Rome following a traffic stop at the intersection of Georgia 140 and Floyd Springs Road, according to reports from law enforcement.

Authorities identified the man as Jason Matthew Reece, 31, of Summerville. Officers said the stop was initiated after they observed Reece failing to maintain his lane of travel, prompting them to pull the vehicle over.

During the investigation, officers determined that Reece was allegedly driving under the influence of methadone and alcohol.

As a result of the stop, Reece was taken into custody and charged with DUI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
