CHS Marching Band Launches Sportsman Raffle Fundraiser

 

The Chattooga High School Marching Band is holding a Sportsman Raffle fundraiser featuring outdoor gear, fishing equipment, and a guided fishing trip on Weiss Lake.

The raffle package includes a YETI Roadie 24 cooler, a guided fishing trip for two on Weiss Lake through Whaley & Son Guide Service, a fishing rod and reel combo, a Snackle Box, and a pack of Gatorade.

Tickets are $25 each or five tickets for $100, with only 200 tickets available.

The drawing is scheduled for May 30, 2026.

Supporters interested in purchasing tickets or helping support the CHS Marching Band are encouraged to contact band representatives for more information.

Homeschool Group Hosting Lunch Fundraiser

All God’s Children Homeschool Group is hosting a preorder lunch fundraiser for the Summerville and Trion communities.

Organizers will deliver premade lunches on Wednesday, May 6 at 12 PM. Each $5 meal includes a hotdog, chips, a cookie, and a bottle of water, with the option to add an extra hotdog for $1.

The group is encouraging local businesses and residents to participate, with delivery available to make it convenient for workplaces and organizations.

All orders must be placed by Monday, May 4 to allow time for preparation.

Payment can be made through Venmo, Cash App, or cash at delivery. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward supporting the homeschool group and its activities.

Lucky Charm Cheer Classic Set For Sunday In Trion

The community is invited to attend the 1st Annual Lucky Charm Cheer Classic, a cheerleading competition and fundraiser benefiting Georgia Elite Allstars and Trion High School Cheerleading. The event will take place Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m. in the Trion High School gymnasium.

The competition will feature recreation, performance, school, and all-star cheer and dance teams from across the region. Organizers say 21 teams and more than 200 athletes from surrounding counties are expected to compete, promising an afternoon full of energy, entertainment, and community spirit.

Proceeds from the event will support athlete development, competition opportunities, uniforms, and program needs for both organizations. Event organizer Tashia Knapp says the goal is to give athletes a fun platform to perform while strengthening local cheer programs, adding that community support has been overwhelming.

Battle Of The Beds Begins To Benefit Chattooga County Animal Shelter

A new friendly rivalry is underway in Chattooga County, as Chattooga and Trion face off in the Battle of the Beds to raise money for the Chattooga County Animal Shelter. The goal of the month-and-a-half-long campaign is to replace worn-out beds currently used by shelter pets with new elevated beds that offer better comfort, cleanliness, and support.
