Chattooga County Animal Shelter Seeking Treat Donations During National Pet Month

The Chattooga County Animal Shelter is encouraging residents to help shelter animals during the final week of National Pet Month by donating treats for cats and dogs currently in the shelter’s care.

Shelter officials say donations can be dropped off Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3 PM until 4 PM at the Chattooga County Animal Shelter located at 464 Red Oak Road in Summerville.

The shelter says community support helps provide comfort and care for animals waiting for adoption and reminds residents that even small donations can make a big difference.

Battle Of The Beds Begins To Benefit Chattooga County Animal Shelter

A new friendly rivalry is underway in Chattooga County, as Chattooga and Trion face off in the Battle of the Beds to raise money for the Chattooga County Animal Shelter. The goal of the month-and-a-half-long campaign is to replace worn-out beds currently used by shelter pets with new elevated beds that offer better comfort, cleanliness, and support.

Milo Named WZQZ Pet of the Week at Chattooga County Animal Shelter

Milo has been named this week’s WZQZ Pet of the Week and is currently available for adoption at the Chattooga County Animal Shelter.

Milo is a 2-year-old neutered male who shelter staff say is good with other dogs. He was surrendered by his previous owner and is now looking for a new forever home. His adoption fee is $25.

The Chattooga County Animal Shelter is located at 464 Red Oak Drive in Summerville. The shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays by appointment, and the first Saturday of every month for adoptions only.
