Dense Fog Advisory in Effect for Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect early Sunday for Chattooga County and surrounding counties across Northwest Georgia as widespread patchy dense fog reduces visibility in many areas. Patchy dense fog is expected between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday, with the thickest fog producing visibility as low as one-quarter mile or less.

A longtime spiritual leader and beloved figure in Chattooga County, Pastor John Mann, has passed away. Pastor Mann had been hospitalized for several days and died in the early morning hours of Sunday.

Mr. Narcisco Santo Hernandez, Obit (M)

Mr. Narcisco Santo Hernandez, age 30 of Summerville, GA passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at an Atlanta Hospital.
Mr. Hernandez was born August 25, 1995, in Fort Payne, AL, to Micaela Juan and Efraen Hernandez. He loved to make people smile and caring for his family. He was also an avid fan of Alabama Football. Along with his parents he is survived by his fiancé, Christina Crowe; siblings, Efrean, Salvador, Angel, and Guadelupe Hernandez, and Joshua, Benny, Eva, Lina, and Maria Ramirez; along with many friends and extended family members.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Hernandez will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from the chapel of Mason Funeral Home. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Efrain Hernandez, Andres Hernandez, Sr., Andres Hernandez, Jr., Joshua Ramirez, Angel Hernandez, Andres Francisco, and Salvador Hernandez serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Hernandez will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
