A Menlo woman filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office this week after another woman threatened her on social media.  The complainant told a responding deputy that the woman had made various threats and had been tagging her on social media in a threatening manner.  Also, the complainant said that the woman had called her a “dirty prostitute” on Facebook.  The complainant said that there was a history of harassment from the woman and wanted a report filed.  The deputy advised her that she should go to the magistrate court and file a good behavior warrant against the woman.

A forty-nine-year-old homeless man was charged with public drunkenness, interference with government property and obstruction of law enforcement as Summerville Police and Chattooga County deputies attempted to arrest and book him into jail.  Police responded to a call on Hawkins Street where Kevin Alphonso Boykin was causing a disturbance.  Boykin fought with officers attempting to get him the patrol car.  Officers used a taser twice on Boykin before getting him inside the vehicle. Once inside, Boykin is accused of kicking the roof of the patrol car, causing damage.  Officers were concerned that Boykin would kick the windows out of the vehicle, so they put him in another patrol car with bars inside.  Once at the jail, Boykin continued to resist officers and was placed in a restraint chair.  Boykin is accused of breaking a vent inside the patrol car.

A seventy-four-year-old Northwest Georgia man from Whitfield County was convicted of methamphetamine possession and possession with intent to distribute by a Walker County Grand Jury.  Thomas Garrison was on trial after a drug bust on Joe Robertson Road in Walker County in April of this year.  Over 4 pounds of meth and over $21,000 in cash was confiscated during the drug raid.  Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Judge Brian House imposed a thirty-year sentence after a jury found Garrison guilty.  It was Garrison’s fifth conviction for drug possession.  District Attorney Chris Arnt said, “We take a hard line against drug dealers in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. We have no tolerance for those that try to profit from other’s misery.”
