Sheriff’s Office Fundraiser Raises $1,515 For Senior Christmas Baskets And Deputy Support

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office says its recent fundraiser raised $1,515 to support two local programs.

Sheriff Mark A. Schrader thanked the individuals and businesses that came out to support the event, along with the employees and community members who worked throughout the day.

Part of the money raised will go toward providing Christmas baskets for senior citizens enrolled in the Sheriff’s Office Well-Check Program.

Funds will also help provide healthy snacks for deputies to keep in their patrol vehicles for times when they are tied up on extended calls and unable to stop for a meal.

Sheriff Schrader gave special thanks to the women in the Sheriff’s Office who helped work the fundraiser and assist with the event.

“I want to personally thank each person and each business that came out and supported our fundraiser,” Schrader said, adding that the support will help the department continue serving both senior citizens and deputies.

The fundraiser was held Friday at the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and included a hot dog lunch and bake sale.

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Hot Dog Lunch and Bake Sale this Friday, September 25, to raise money for several community and employee programs.

The fundraiser will be held from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Sheriff’s Office, 533 Underwood Drive in Trion.

For $7, lunch includes a hot dog, chips, drink and dessert. Additional baked goods and sweets will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds will help purchase items for the Christmas Baskets provided by the Sheriff’s Office, prizes for the Senior Well Check Program, and supplies for the Health & Heart Hydration Fund, which provides hydration and healthy snacks for patrol officers.

The Sheriff’s Office is inviting the community to stop by for lunch Friday while supporting programs that benefit local residents and law enforcement personnel.

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office will hold a hot dog lunch and bake sale later this month to raise money for several community programs.

The fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, September 25, from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, 533 Underwood Drive in Trion.

For $7, participants will receive a lunch that includes a hot dog, chips, drink and dessert. Additional baked goods will also be available for purchase.

Money raised during the event will help purchase items for the Christmas Baskets distributed by the Sheriff’s Office, provide prizes for citizens participating in the department’s Senior Well Check Program, and support the Health & Heart Hydration Fund, which purchases hydration and healthy snacks for patrol officers.

Residents are invited to stop by the Sheriff’s Office during the four-hour fundraiser to have lunch, purchase baked goods and support the programs.

6th Annual Chattooga County Plant Swap Set for May 2 in Summerville; Vendors Now Wanted

The Free 6th Annual Chattooga County Plant Swap is set for Saturday, May 2nd, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Teloga Springs Farm, 9505 Hwy 337 in Summerville, bringing local gardeners together for an afternoon of swapping plants and supporting community causes. Organizers say all donations benefit the Animal Advocates of Chattooga County and the Teloga Fire Department, and note it will be a cash-only event.

Along with the plant swap, the event will feature raffle tickets, vendors, food trucks, and a bake sale, giving families plenty to do while shopping and connecting with fellow growers across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia.

Organizers are also seeking vendors and crafters to participate. Vendor setup is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and vendor spots are $30. Vendors should plan to bring their own pop-up tent and tables, as they will not be provided, and organizers say no power or Wi-Fi will be available.
