Summerville City Offices To Close Early Friday

All City of Summerville administrative offices will close early on Friday, April 17, at 11:00 AM so staff can attend an Employee Appreciation Lunch.

City officials say the early closure is intended to recognize the hard work and dedication of city employees.

Normal office hours will resume on Monday, April 20.

Residents needing to make utility payments can still do so through the drop box, online portal, or automated phone system while offices are closed.

Officials also remind the public that in the event of an emergency, they should call 911.

The City of Summerville thanked residents for their understanding and support.

Town Of Trion Announces Good Friday Closures And Garbage Pickup Change

The Town of Trion has announced that the Business Office, Maintenance Department, and Gas Department will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of the Good Friday Easter holiday.

Officials also say that garbage normally collected on Friday will instead be picked up on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

In addition, the Trion Recreation Center will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026, and Saturday, April 4, 2026.

For emergency calls involving gas service or the Trion Police Department, residents are asked to call 911, and emergency dispatchers will contact the proper personnel.

Water Service Disruption Expected Friday for Some Summerville Water Customers

City of Summerville water customers may experience low or no water pressure on Friday, March 20, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. as crews work to repair a fire hydrant.

According to city officials, the temporary disruption is necessary to complete the repair work and restore proper service. Customers in several areas are expected to be impacted during this time.

Affected areas include:

  • Mahan Road

  • Hairlake Road

  • Williams Road

  • Beavers Road

  • Calland Drive

  • And surrounding areas

Summerville Rec Gym to Close Temporarily for HVAC Installation

The Summerville Recreation Center gym will be closed for the next couple of weeks beginning today, MondayMarch 9 as work continues to complete the HVAC installation in the gym.

Officials say the temporary closure is necessary to finish the project and apologized for any inconvenience to the public. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly while the work is underway.

City of Summerville water customers may experience low water pressure on Monday, February 23, 2026, due to maintenance work at the city’s water treatment plant.

The City of Summerville Fire Department will conduct routine fire hydrant flushing on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., as part of ongoing system maintenance.

Officials say the work will primarily affect northeast Summerville, including the Highway 27 area and West Washington Avenue area. During the maintenance period, fire department personnel will perform essential tasks on hydrants across the city, including lubrication, flushing, and function checks.
