Hee Haw Tribute Shows set for March 20-21 in Summerville

The City of Summerville will host Hee Haw Tribute Shows on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21 at the Summerville Train Depot. The event will feature tributes to classic Hee Haw skits including “Rindercella,” Samples Sales, Gossip Girls, and more.

Organizers say a cast of more than 18 performers will bring 90 minutes of laughter and interactive fun to the stage. Showtimes are set for Friday at 7 p.m., with three performances on Saturday at 3 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m.

Advance tickets are available at Summerville City Hall for $15, with additional tickets available at the door if space allows. Concessions will also be available, and seating will open 15 minutes prior to each show.

Despite ice‑cold temperatures and snowfall, the 2026 Pinewood Derby Race for Pack 38 Cub Scouts roared ahead as planned, proving that a little winter weather couldn’t slow down Scout spirit.
Families bundled up and made their way to the race venue, where Scouts proudly presented the wooden cars they had designed and built over the past several weeks. Inside, the atmosphere was warm with excitement as cars raced down the track and cheers filled the room.
Pack 38 held their annual pinewood derby on Saturday January 31 at the Ag Center in Summerville. A popular Cub Scout Activity, pinewood derbies feature unpowered miniature wood cars that compete in timed races on a sloped track.

James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park is inviting the public to a “Moon Pie Hike” on Saturday, January 31 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. The event features an easy hike around the lower lake with Moon Pies and hot cocoa while watching the moonrise on the lower dam.

Participants are asked to bring a flashlight, a blanket to sit on, and to wear comfortable shoes. Rangers will meet hikers outside the park office at 6:30 PM. The cost is $3 per person, and a $10 park pass is required. Registration is also required, and those interested can call the park office at 706-857-0826 to register or ask questions.

Wings Over North Georgia Air Show Returns April 3–4 in Rome With U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as Headliners

The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show will return to the skies over Rome this spring, taking place Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4, at Russell Regional Airport, with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds set to headline the two-day event.

Air show organizers say the Thunderbirds are expected to be in town throughout air show week, and JLC Airshow Management President John Cowman noted he’s especially excited that the team will be able to land at Rome’s airport this time, crediting a recent runway extension for making that possible.

The show will feature aerial performances both days, along with a twilight show and fireworks on Friday night. Organizers also emphasized there will be no show on Sunday, which falls on Easter.
