Pentecostal Powers VBS

Pentecostal Power Ministries in Lyerly will host its “Come See the Light” Vacation Bible School June 22-26.

The VBS program will be held nightly from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Pentecostal Power Ministries, located at 87 North Chattooga Avenue in Lyerly. The theme is based on John 8:12 and focuses on “Shining a Light on Who Jesus Really Is.”

The church will also host a special Family Night on Friday as part of the week-long event

Waterville Baptist VBS

Waterville Baptist Church is inviting children and families to hop aboard the “Bible Bus” for Vacation Bible School June 15-19.

The church’s VBS program will be held each evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and is open to children ages 3 and up. Throughout the week, participants will learn about Bible figures including Abraham, Stephen, Naomi and Ruth, and Paul while enjoying lessons, activities, and fellowship.

The theme verse for this year’s event is Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Pennville Church of Christ VBS

Pennville Church of Christ will host its Vacation Bible School, “Turnabout Pointe: Where the Path Leads to Jesus,” on Saturday, June 13.

The one-day event will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Children from nursery age through middle school are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided immediately following the program.

The church invites families from across the community to join in a morning of Bible lessons, activities, fellowship, and fun centered on growing closer to Jesus.

Summerville First Baptist VBS

Summerville First Baptist Church is inviting children and teens to its 2026 Vacation Bible School, “Illumination Station,” June 22-25.

The free event will be held Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. at Summerville First Baptist Church, located at 125 Georgia Avenue in Summerville. Children ages 3 through 12th grade are welcome to attend, with 3-year-olds required to be potty trained.

Participants will enjoy games, arts and crafts, Bible study, faith formation activities, recreation, music, and more. A light dinner will also be served each evening.

After weeks of warm, humid conditions, a refreshing change is arriving across northwest Georgia this week.

A backdoor cold front moving south into the region will bring noticeably cooler temperatures and lower humidity, creating conditions that will feel more like spring than the first week of meteorological summer. Before the cooler air fully settles in, however, a few isolated thunderstorms could develop Tuesday afternoon and evening.
