From Sheriff Mark Schrader: Update from Sunday night’s shooting:

Sample Image
Investigators are still investigating the circumstances around the shooting that occurred Sunday night at a residence between Teloga and Chelsea on Highway 337. Preliminary findings show that a 61 year old father, Miles Bagley and his 34 year old son, Isaiah Bagley became involved in a domestic dispute when the son came home from a friend’s house highly intoxicated.
Multiple attempts by the Father and Mother to diffuse the situation by having the son go to his bedroom and stay were unsuccessful. The son continued to get into the father’s face, head butting him multiple times and threatening him and the mother.
The father retrieved a small handgun from a table near where they were and fired a shot into the floor in an attempt to dissuade the son. The father was then pushed down, out of the front door and onto the porch. As the son approached him again, while he was still lying on the porch, he fired the firearm at his son striking him 3 times.
At some point the mother ended up falling down onto the porch as well. The son is currently being treated in an area hospital.
No charges have been filed against the father at this time.
