Chattooga High School is expressing its appreciation to the Chattooga County Memorial Home and American Legion Post 129 for the donation of two new United States flags, reinforcing a long-standing tradition of patriotism and respect on campus.
Chattooga County Schools have canceled all extracurricular activities scheduled for tonight, Friday, January 30, 2026, as well as events planned for this weekend, due to the forecast for snow beginning tonight and continuing into Saturday. School officials said information on rescheduled dates and times will be shared once details are confirmed.
The announcement was issued by Jeremy Heathcock with Chattooga County Schools, who encouraged families to stay warm and safe as winter weather moves into the area.
Chattooga High School will conduct its January fire drill on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m., according to Assistant Principal and Athletic Director J. Mark Turner.
Chattooga County Schools will begin following an updated personal electronic device policy when students return to class on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in response to Georgia’s new Distraction-Free Education Act (HB 340).
